Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo Confirmed as Fourth Victim in Gauteng Murder Spree
The family of missing Kempton Park runner Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo has formally identified her decomposed body, confirming her as the fourth victim in a string of murders that has shaken Gauteng.
Moselakgomo, 38, disappeared on September 9 after leaving her home for an afternoon jog along Mustang Street. Her body was discovered three days later, on September 12, partially clothed and hidden in a ditch behind a Rhodesfield hotel. Forensic investigators confirmed she had suffered severe blunt‑force injuries and bruising consistent with the other victims. The advanced state of decomposition complicated identification, but her family has now positively confirmed her remains, ending days of uncertainty.
Elizabeth leaves behind her young daughter and grieving relatives in Kempton Park. Friends and neighbors describe her as a devoted mother and a vibrant community figure who encouraged others to stay active and healthy. Her death has left the community devastated and fearful, as the pattern of killings continues to escalate.
No arrests have been made in connection with Moselakgomo’s murder. Police are investigating whether her killing is linked to an active predator targeting women in the region, a broader syndicate possibly responsible for multiple attacks.
Moselakgomo is officially the fourth victim among the five bodies discovered in the past two months. The fifth body was found this morning, September 14, under a bridge in Olifantsfontein. That victim remains unidentified, though forensic teams suspect she was killed between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday before being dumped.
With tensions boiling over, SAPS has urged women in Ekurhuleni to avoid jogging or walking alone, especially in Rhodesfield hotel back access zones, open velds near the R21 freeway, and secluded bridges and roadside spaces in Olifantsfontein. Community members have begun forming picket lines and demanding urgent action, as fear spreads through the district.
Daily Stream News will continue to track forensic updates, police task team briefings, and community responses as this investigation unfolds.
