Ninth Body Found in Ekurhuleni: Dawn Park Wakes to Fear and Fury

Police have confirmed the discovery of a ninth woman’s body early this morning in Dawn Park, Ekurhuleni, marking yet another grim chapter in Gauteng’s unfolding murder investigation. The victim was found in a grassy field near a residential area, partially clothed, with visible injuries suggesting assault. Forensic teams have cordoned off the scene while investigators work to determine whether this latest killing is connected to the previous eight cases scattered across KwaThema, Olifantsfontein, and Tembisa.  

Authorities say the pattern remains disturbingly consistent — women found in isolated areas, some showing signs of sexual assault. Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe reiterated that while similarities exist, it is still too early to confirm a single perpetrator, stressing that multiple leads are being pursued. Residents of Dawn Park have expressed shock and anger, calling for increased patrols and community protection measures.  

The discovery has reignited public outrage and fear across Ekurhuleni, where the death toll continues to rise despite intensified investigations.
