PM Modi Hopes India and China Can Make Peace at Borders by Talking to Each Other

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered confidence that, through constructive and positive domestic engagement at the peaceful and military levels, both countries will be able to bring back and maintain calm and security at their borders. Modi claims that stable and peaceful relations between India and China are important for the entire region and the world.

In an interview with the US magazine Newsweek, Modi stated that India’s relationship with China is crucial and noteworthy.

“I think that in order to move past the anomaly in our bilateral interactions, we must immediately solve the protracted situation on our borders. Not just our two nations, but the entire region and the world, depend on stable and peaceful relations between China and India, the speaker stated.

“Modi said we’ll achieve peace at our borders by talking and working with other countries, both diplomatically and through our military. In an interview with a magazine in New York, he talked about lots of things like the upcoming elections, our relationship with Pakistan, building a Ram temple, democracy, and more.”

In response to a question concerning relations with Pakistan, Modi stated that he had congratulated the Pakistani prime minister on assuming office and declared that India has consistently supported the advancement of prosperity, security, and peace in the area in an environment free from violence and terror.

“I won’t comment on matters internal to Pakistan,” Modi stated in reference to the arrest of the former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan. The prime minister discussed China and the Quad grouping, stating that the US, Australia, Japan, India, and China are all members of numerous groups.

We can be found in various configurations inside various organizations. Quad does not target any nation. Quad is a coalition of like-minded nations working toward a common, constructive objective, much like many other international organizations like SCO, BRICS, and others,” he said.

The US, Australia, Japan, and India make constitute the Quad grouping.

Speaking to those who were against the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, Modi urged them to travel to the region in order to see for themselves the significant improvements that are taking place there. Never trust anything I or anyone else tells you. Jammu and Kashmir was visited by me only a month ago. People are experiencing hope for the first time in their life. “You have to see it to believe it: the people’s empowerment, good governance, and development process.” he declared.

The dividend of peace is being enjoyed by the populace: in 2023, over 21 million tourists traveled to Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorist incidents have significantly decreased. Stone-throwing and organized bandhs and hartals, which formerly disturbed daily life, have since disappeared,” the prime minister said.

Regarding the importance of the recently opened Ram temple in Ayodhya, Modi remarked that the name Shri Ram is ingrained in our collective mind.

Lord Ram’s life has shaped the ideas and principles that guide our society. His name reverberates throughout our hallowed territory. I thus undertook a pilgrimage to the locations where Shri Ram’s footprints are found during the 11-day unique ceremony that I observed. The cherished place that Shri Ram holds within everyone of us was demonstrated by my voyage, which took me to different parts of the country,” he remarked.

“The nation experienced a historic moment of oneness when Shri Ram returned to his birthplace. It was the result of centuries of sacrifice and tenacity. I was aware that, if invited to participate in the ceremony, I would be speaking for the nation’s 1.4 billion citizens. people have eagerly anticipated Ram Lalla’s homecoming for centuries,” he remarked.

“In the eleven days preceding this fortunate occasion, I bore the hopes and dreams of innumerable followers, excitedly awaiting this day.” Like a second Diwali, the ritual itself united the country in celebration. Ram Jyoti’s brightness shone through every house. As the spokesperson of 1.4 billion Indians, I consider it a wonderful blessing that I was able to attend the consecration event,” he remarked.

Regarding the impending Lok Sabha elections, Modi stated that his administration has a strong record of keeping its word.

Even the most powerful systems begin to lose favor after the second term. The last few years have seen a rise in dissatisfaction with governments worldwide. India is an exception, he claimed, where public support for the administration is rising.

Modi praised India as “the mother of democracy,” pointing out that it is the greatest democracy globally, with over 600 million voters casting ballots in the 2019 General Elections and over 970 million eligible voters expected to cast ballots in the coming months.

“Polling places exceeding a million would be established throughout India.” Voter turnout that keeps rising is a major testament to the populace’s confidence in Indian democracy. India is a democracy, and its ability to progress and function depends on having a dynamic feedback mechanism. And in this sense, our media is really significant. There are hundreds of news stations and about 1.5 lakh (150,000) registered media publications, he said.
