Kachnar Tree: A Symbol of Tradition and Healing

The kachnar tree, which was also represented in the state flag of Ayodhya, has been utilized as a fragrant medicine in Ayurvedic practices. It’s known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. That’s why Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has specifically directed to offer this special gulal at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Vrindavan Temple, and the Lete Hanuman Temple in Prayagraj during Holi.

Champat Rai, Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, mentioned that he received the gulal made from kachnar flowers from the National Botanical Research Institute in Lucknow, which they will dedicate to the deity. Concerns regarding the use of chemical-laden gulal that could harm the body have been addressed by the Botanical Institute in Lucknow.

Mr. Rai expressed his gratitude and emphasized the use of natural flowers and gulal. He mentioned, “I have received gulal made from kachnar flowers for Ram Lalla.”
